About this Speaker
As a Senior Manager of Digital Advertising at The Orchard, a leading music distribution company operating in 45 markets worldwide that partners with independent artists including Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Skepta, Jorja Smith, and Nas, Aimée Tian sits as a strategy manager handling the day-to-day communications with label managers, marketing and artist teams to help support their acts across frontline releases, catalogues, touring and merchandising efforts. While her focus is primarily in the hip-hop, R&B and emerging markets space, she has experience across all genres.
Born in Beijing, raised in Vancouver, studied in Montreal, and now based in London, she aims to bring a unique, global perspective to the music industry. In 2018, she graduated from McGill University with a major in Art History, along with a double minor in Economics and Media & Communications Studies. She initially kickstarted her career as a community manager for a local art agency, producing social media content for a live music festival. Following this, she moved over to Wavo, a global music marketing and analytics agency - where she worked alongside label partners such as Atlantic Records, Warner Records, Interscope, RCA & AWAL. Outside of her day-to-day primary responsibilities, she has a background in artist management for the Montreal-based rapper SLM, and is actively involved with community building efforts in the D&I space. She currently sits as a CARAS Academy Delegate & Jury Member for The JUNOs, and is involved with both Asian American Collective (North America) and ESEA Music (UK), organizations which seek to highlight and amplify the voices of Asian folks in the music industry worldwide.
