Beverly Shih

Beverly is a multi-faceted professional at the intersection of music and data. She studied Biology at UCLA, and leveraged her technical training to pivot to data analysis in the music industry. Her background in music performance and education contribute to her well-rounded perspective on music data. Upon realizing her calling did not involve viola solos, Beverly adapted her mission to ensuring other creatives are paid accurately and fairly for their work. She has worked with royalties at ASCAP, NBCUniversal, Songtradr, and now Netflix. She draws skills from various fields and hobbies to enhance her analytical approach, like learning languages and self-teaching SQL and Python, or managing personal finance and developing unnecessarily complicated spreadsheets.
